Color Rendering and Color Temperature.
|
Color Rendering Index (CRI) refers to color rendition, specifically, how the color of an object appears under the artificial light source illuminating as compared to natural outdoor sunlight.
Color Temperature refers to the quality of light emanating from the artificial light source. (Represented by by the number of degrees Kelvin based on the Kelvin color temperature scale.) The color temperature of outside light varies from 5000K to 5500K depending on the time of day, weather, season and latitude. The higher the color of a fluorescent lamp, the bluer (cooler) the appearance. The lower the color temperature the redder (warmer) it's appearance.
Color rendering index and color temperature are independent of each other. It is also possible for two different lamps to have the same temperature and yet have a different color rendering index. The lamp with the highest color rendering index will generally have the lower initial lumen output of the two. |
|
It is important to consider three factors when selecting a lamp for a specific task. |
1. Color rendering index- Range from 88 to 93 2. Color temperature 3. Lumen control

Full Spectrum Solutions PARALITE The Ultimate in High Color Rendering Light.
Many lamps claim to be similar to sunlight. These curves let you see that PARALITE closely duplicates the sun's energy profile.
In fact PARALITE has more energy in the critical violet and blue portions of the spectrum. |
